Clapham Park Homes, part of Metropolitan Housing Partnership, is a community-led housing association, tackling one of the most complex and exciting urban regeneration projects in the country. Formed in 2005, our purpose is to rebuild or refurbish some 2000 existing homes, introduce a further 1400 homes for sale and shared ownership, while transforming the public realm and local infrastructure with an array of community facilities and new commercial hubs. We also seek to achieve a step-change improvement in the delivery of local services. Our aim is simple. We strive to “develop a new sustainable environment for Clapham Park, supported by quality local services”.
We are now seeking a new Chair to lead the Clapham Park Homes Board. Strong corporate governance is critical to us and our stakeholders so, if you are a people person with excellent communication skills, outcome-focused with demonstrable chairing experience and you possess a consensual, yet decisive leadership style; then we want to hear from you.
The successful candidate is likely to possess significant non-executive experience, probably gained within a regulated, customer-focused and, ideally, property-related environment. In addition, it goes without saying that we will only appoint someone who we feel is able to demonstrate a clear empathy with our social purpose and with the experience required to support our focus on the delivery of our ambitious plans and continuously improving services in a resident-focused organisation.
It is envisaged that the Chair of Clapham Park Homes will be nominated to sit on the main board of Metropolitan Housing Partnership. If nomination is successful, then remuneration of £8,205 p.a. will apply.
Board meetings take place in London, the time commitment is c3 days per month and the closing date is 16 August 2010 at 12 noon.
To apply for this position or any other, please either complete an online application form or upload your CV and a Supporting statement addressing the key criteria in the person specification.
